Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood
My sister, daughter, and I have formed a little book club - reading all 4 of the Traveling Pants books and discussing them, along with seeing the movie. We have followed the four girls from high school into college and are seeing the fruits of their maturity in this book. Three of the four girls had some type of sexual encounter (not explicitly described), which provided for interesting discussion with my 16 year old daughter. She read the book first, and while I was reading, I thought maybe I should have read it first. When I went to talk to her about it, she said that I shouldn't overreact. I started thinking, and she is right. Books are ways for us to deal with delicate/difficult situations without having experienced them ourselves. Actually the actions of the characters provided lots of food for thought about the consequences of being sexually active and the catalyst for us to discuss their actions together in a way we might not have otherwise.
If you have the chance to read the book, tell me if you think it's the last one based on the ending. I am not sure.
